Introducing Local Backups on Autonomous

We’re excited to introduce Local Backups on Autonomous, making it easier than ever to manage your website backups.
Previously, restoring specific files or database tables from older backups was a complex and time-consuming process. Users had to restore the entire website to a previous version, extract the necessary files, and then revert the site back. Manually downloading backups was also cumbersome, and exporting backups to external sources wasn’t possible.
With Local Backups, you can now download backups directly to your file system. This feature allows you to easily retrieve individual files or tables and export data to any external source.

What You Need to Know:

  • The current default access (without username/password) will remain active.
  • Redis authentication with usernames and passwords will be enforced in a future update, and we will notify you when that happens.

Important – Malware Bot Alerts

We want to inform everyone that starting September 9th, we will be activating the Cloudways Bot Alert for Malware. This alert will notify customers if their website has been hacked or infected with malware.
In contrast to the previous Vulnerability Scanner Alerts, which caused many issues for our support team, we’ve taken a more customer-centric approach this time.
Customers will first receive an email informing them of the activation. Alerts will only be sent if their applications are compromised. If customers wish to opt-out before the alerts are enabled, they can do so through the Bot notification settings. However, we strongly recommend keeping the alerts active, as they will only be triggered when it is 100% certain that the site is infected.

DO Basic 32GB Premium Server Now Available in NYC1
